Minimum Wage increase for Apprentices and Young Workers from 1st April

with No Comments

Great news for many apprentices and young workers today with increases in Minimum Wage rates for all workers.  The table below shows the new rates in comparison with the previous ones:

YEAR 25 AND OVER 21 TO 24 18 TO 20 UNDER 18 APPRENTICE
2018 £7.83 £7.38 £5.90 £4.20 £3.70
2017 £7.50 £7.05 £5.60 £4.05 £3.50

We welcome any and all changes that puts more money into the pay packets of apprentices and young workers and it is good to see continued growth in these salary rates.  It is worth remembering that these are minimum levels and that many employers pay in excess of those rates.
