The job will involve learning the various functions to process film negative through all its phases to a stabilized image. There will also be the opportunity to carry out film scanning and the digitising of film.

Apprenticeship qualification to be undertaken
Apprentices will achieve a practical (or 'competence') qualification:
Diploma in Creative and Digital Media
Diploma in Creative and Digital Media Competence
Apprentices will also achieve a theory-based (or 'knowledge') qualification:

Functional skills in English and maths if required
The CFD (Consumer Film Division) of which you will be part of deals with the sales of motion picture film and its chemistry, and its technical support. You will work specifically with the processing and digitising of motion picture film from 16mm – 65mm.
Maintaining environmental cleanliness
Film negative inspection and cleaning
Dark room splicing and loading with negative
Processing machine operation for 16mm, 35mm and 65mm film
Chemical preparation, mixing, control, sensitometry
Film scanning, colour grading and archiving
Future Prospects/Career Interests
Future potential prospects could be full employment as a Motion Picture Film Technician or as a Digital Services Technician.
